Do you have a balance due to the IRS?
When filing Form 940, if you have a balance due to the IRS you are required to complete Form 940-V, a payment voucher. TaxBandits helps simplify this process by automatically generating your Form 940-V for you based off of the information you provide while preparing your form.
Simply download your payment voucher from your TaxBandits account, attach a check or money order to it, and mail it to the IRS along with the Form 940.
When should I use Form 940-V?
Payment voucher Form 940-V can only be used if your FUTA tax for the fourth quarter or any undeposited amounts from a previous quarter is $500 or less, or if you didn't incur a $100,000 next-day deposit obligations during the current tax quarter, and you're paying the amount you owe in full by the deadline. You can also use payment voucher 940-V if you are a monthly scheduled depositor making a payment in accordance with the Accuracy of Deposit Rule.
If your total FUTA tax after adjustments (Form 940, line 12) is more than $500, you must make deposits by electronic funds transfer.
Lastly, your auto-generated Form 940 in your TaxBandits account will list step-by-step instructions about how to complete the Form 940-V, make your payment, and includes the payment address.
