There are 5 copies of the Form 1099-G that must be completed. These copies include:

  • Copy A : This is the red copy that goes to the IRS
  • Copy 1 : This copy goes to the state tax department
  • Copy B : This copy goes to the recipient
  • Copy 2 : This copy is for the recipient’s state income tax return
  • Copy C : This copy is for the payer’s records

Remember, you will need to file Copy A with the IRS and Copies B and 2 must be mailed to the recipient. And the Copy C must go to the payer to report some information on their income
tax return.

5. When is the 1099-G Deadline?
